Meet Aina Ministral, mother of Roc (4) and Pia (5) and founder of the jewelry brand Aina Barcelona @aina.barcelona . Gemologist and artisan, Aina spends her time among precious stones and noble materials.
Aina tells us about her daily life while wearing models from our Fall Winter 2024 collection with her little ones.
How has motherhood changed your life?
It has changed me for the better. At first it was very chaotic, it turned my life upside down! It was hard for me to find my bearings and change my daily routine. I continued to work as hard as I could (it's my passion) and at the same time I wanted everything with the children. In the end I broke down... and leaving aside the fear of quitting work, I was able to focus on what I really wanted. Rethinking my role and position within the company a little was key to getting quality time for my children and, in turn, for me and my partner.
What is your daily life like as a working mother?
For the past year we have also been able to put things in order at home. I mainly work in the mornings and my partner in the afternoons. We get up calmly, have breakfast together and go to school by bike. It seems silly, but managing to leave the car and the stress of traffic behind means that we all start the day on the right foot.
Then straight to the office/workshop (depending on what's on that day) and deal with whatever comes up! Whenever possible, I leave on time to pick up the kids from school and go to the park for a while, but knowing that they are with their father gives me the calm I need to, if necessary, stay and work quietly until the time is right. What has been liberating for me has been to stop taking the computer home.
What values would you like to pass on to your children?
I would like to tell you that in life there is time for everything, that one has to make an effort and fight for what one truly believes in and that it is important to enjoy each stage and the moment. Above all, live in the present moment and not worry too much about what will come.
What do you think should change in society to facilitate conciliation?
I think it's changing a lot, there are more and more people who value being able to be with their children and that makes those around them think about things.
I think there is a need for more empathy in general. Being able to be with your children when they are sick should be mandatory, the school calendar should be aligned with the holidays...
Perhaps if we generally lowered the pace and immediacy we would gain a lot in terms of conciliation.
How would you define your style when it comes to dressing your little ones?
The truth is that in general we wear very neutral tones, but we always look for a bit of casualness with some special garment, whether colorful or with a fun design.
What inspires you about the Compañía Fantástica Mini collection?
Joy, casualness and fun.
What is the best and most difficult thing about being a mom?
The best thing for me is the mornings, I love starting the day and seeing them happy, eager to live and make the most of their day. The hardest thing is the extreme tiredness and general uncertainty.
If you could talk to your pre-mom self, what would you say?
Enjoy the little things every day and don't worry about the future.
In the future, I would like my children to…
Be happy and find what makes you vibrate and dream big.
