What is LENZING™ ECOVERO™ Viscose?
LENZING™ ECOVERO™ is a new type of fabric similar to traditional viscose , although made to a high eco-responsible standard. This material is obtained through a low-emission production process that respects the environment and with a sustainable source of wood . LENZING™ ECOVERO™ fibers are a perfect option if we are looking for ecologically responsible materials that adapt to a more sustainable way of life that seeks balance with our environment. Its use contributes to a cleaner and more cared for environment, respected throughout its creation process. In addition, they are recognized with the European Union ecological label and are characterized by their great transparency in the supply chain.
Characteristics of this new fabric
ECOVERO™ is a material produced by the leading ecological fabric company LENZING™, which seeks environmentally friendly production so that the fashion industry can move towards sustainability. Some of its properties are the following:
• These are biodegradable viscose fibers with low environmental impact and are responsible for the natural environment. From the extraction of raw materials to its production, distribution and disposal process, LENZING™ ECOVERO™ complies with the European Union eco-label standards.
• They are obtained from sustainable wood and cellulose , which come from certified and controlled suppliers.
• The final result is a soft fabric in contact with the skin, highly fluid and with a beautiful drape, which can be seen in the printed garments from our latest autumn winter 2022 collection.
• In addition, it is a light material that regulates body temperature and humidity well . This allows it to be suitable for creating garments for any season, being breathable and pleasant on the skin.
Differences between LENZING™ ECOVERO™ and traditional viscose
The main differentiating aspect is related to the sustainability of the fabric . ECOVERO™ is an innovative material, with a transparent production process. Its raw material, cellulose, is obtained from renewable wood resources from sustainable forests, with certifications FSC® (C041246) from the Forest Stewardship Council and PEFC™, the Program for Approval of Forest Certification Systems). Traditional viscose does not have a traceable origin nor is it ensured that it is obtained responsibly.
In addition, the wood for the production of LENZING™ ECOVERO™ comes from nearby forests and follows the strict transportation guidelines of the Lenzing company.
